Seahawks vs. Giants NFL Week 4: Daniel Jones has been league’s worst primetime quarterback
While Minnesota’s Kirk Cousins is likely the first quarterback bettors think of as being a truly horrible wager in primetime games career, Cousins has nothing on New York’s Daniel Jones with the Giants as 1.5-point home dogs for Monday night’s matchup against Seattle. The Giants are likely to again be without Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley.
The #NYGiants opened this season on Sunday night at home against Dallas and were slaughtered 40-0 to drop Jones to 1-11 in his primetime career. That’s easily the worst mark among QBs with at least 10 starts since the merger. Since 2017, which predates Jones by a couple of years, the Giants also have lost eight straight home primetime games by an average score of 28.6-12.8, covering the spread in just one.

Jones had just five picks all of last season but has four this year and at least one in four straight games going back to last season’s playoffs. New York is averaging only 14.3 points and is the only team in NFL to not score a first half touchdown yet.
Barkley missed the Week 3 loss on Thursday night at San Francisco with an ankle sprain and is not expected to play Monday. The Giants are 9-14 when Barkley does not play since drafting him in 2018. Jones has a career rating of 90.4 when Barkley plays and 76.7 when he doesn’t. Jones also will be without starting left tackle Andrew Thomas for a third straight game.
Defensively, New York has allowed at least 28 points in each game and not had a takeaway yet, the first time the franchise has ever had a three-game streak like that. The Giants have allowed 160 points and have 0 takeaways in their last five games dating back to last postseason.
Seattle is 5-0 straight up and ATS all-time at MetLife Stadium, which includes a 43-8 blowout of Denver in Super Bowl XLVIII. Seattle also has the best winning percentage in the history of Monday Night Football (28-12, .700). Former Jets and Giants castoff QB Geno Smith leads the NFL in completion percentage since the start of last season (69.6%). He has 12 wins since start of 2021 season and had 12 combined wins from 2013-2020.
The #Seahawks have won five of the past six in the series, including 27-13 last year at home when they sacked Jones five times and had two takeaways. The all-time series is tied 10-10.
